Change Management

Changes in IT & Engineering projects often cause cost and result in project delays. Thus, decisions have to be made based on assumptions and previous experience. Changes at a later stage are sometimes unavoidable and hence, need to be managed. The aim of project change management is not to seek the elimination of all project changes, but to minimise the negative impact of necessary changes and to avoid unnecessary ones.

A recent study found that 9 out of the 10 top barriers to change are people related e.g. employee opposition and limited change management skills.
