March 2012 – Codub commences asset barcoding (tagging) of UEL’s £21 million sports complex in Docklands
Codub Consulting is pleased to announce the award of a contract to carry out an asset survey and barcoding (tagging) of all M&E assets at the new sports complex at the University of East London (UEL)
Opened in March 2012, University of East London’s SportsDock, a state-of-the-art £21 million sports complex, based at the Docklands campus will provide:
Large 100 + station fitness centre
2 sports arenas (which can host badminton, basketball, volleyball, cricket, football, netball)
Aerobics and dance studio
Strength and conditioning room
2 outdoor 3G five a-side pitches
Sports cafe
As part of the contract, all the assets are to be barcoded (tagged). The survey commenced on 19th March, 2012. Codub will be surveying the sports complex using the industry approved Motorola MC55 hand held PDAs to do the asset collection, which eliminates the need for paperwork and all the associated errors and time delays. The MC55 packs the power of a cell phone, two-way radio, barcode scanner, digital camera and mobile computer. The end result will be that UEL will have a detailed and accurate asset register from the beginning.
